2.4 to be available on July 2nd!
Well now we are at the crossroads of the PSN life cycle where I talk about how AWESOME it is to be a PSN member now. PSN update ver. 2.4 will be available on July 2nd and it will feature the following options

In-game XrossMediaBar (XMB)
Send messages in-game through XMB
Listen to Music in-game
Trophies!
Google Toolbar
Expanded friends list to 100 (out now)

All this is exciting news for the PS3 owners out there that love to socialize with people and use their PS3 as a multimedia device (Music, Photos, Videos) because now people can access their music in-game. Finally I might put some music on my PS3 now =)
Also the list of games that will support the Trophy System are

Super Stardust HD
PixelJunk Eden
LittleBigPlanet
Buzz! Quiz TV
Pain

SOCOM: Confrontation
Resistance 2
Warhawk

Now the tools are available for everyone to make patches and use the features on the PS3 so do not fret there will be more games to follow suit.
The new Trophy System will one up the competition and feature a level system, so that as you play you feel like you are gaining something from these Trophies, as oppose to a score and nothing more. There are also different kinds of Trophies you can acquire to (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum)  so that you are always striving to get more out of you game.
Firmware 2.40 will come to a PS3 near you on July 2nd

BUNGIE MAKES BROKEN GAMES AND MOCKS COMMUNITY MEMBERS TOO!
Well a forum poster by the name of Dan91Bauer got bashed on the Bungie weekly update for stating his concern for the Battle Rifle (One of the MAIN weapons in Halo mind you) The gun tends to have an issue of randomness at times and does not always allow the best player victory (believe me I know). So Dan wrote this intelligent and thorough post, which generated a lot of attention, only to have it deleted….
mmmmmm
That’s not good at all. Lukems (of Bungie fame) said that he erased it “by mistake” (yeah and my blog generated a hundred views today lol) so Dan posted the same one up again. Yeah, Dan was banned from Bungie.net for stating an opinion because apparently according to Bungie it was “beating a dead horse”.
So Bungie, in the weekly update, explained how the BR worked (which was all hogwash) showcasing how they use “reality” to justify the physics of the bullets that come out of the gun……. Yeah they still don’t hit my intended target now do they?
Usually I don’t like to rant in such a manner but this is the tip of the iceberg for me:
Scroll all the way done to the crybaby picture
So this is “professionalism” at it’s best mind you. They bashed the guy for telling Bungie to go to hell because they obviously lost the good game design they had going for them. After all it’s not like Dan payed for the game ri….. Oh wait HE DID! So he has every right to be angry about this whole issue!
Don’t get me wrong I like the Halo series (novels, games, comics, etc) but I knew this game was more geared to the casual crowd and that is fine but at least make sure you make the game functional, as in the weapons hit the targets intended to hit.
Well I hope you enjoyed this late night rant but just waking up and seeing this stuff is incredible

Also I can not go on without talking about MLG (My favorite competitive gaming website). MLG just had its San Diego Event this past weekend and it was a resounding success, with the second event in the season anything can happen!
For Halo 3 Str8 Rippen led by TSquared won the champion ship match against Instinct as well as the first seed going in the next event Orlando
For Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 MOB Rage took the title as 22 teams battled it out for supremacy and of course cold hard cash as well as the first seed going into Orlando they faced of against LoSt CauSe which put up one hell of a fight!
This event also saw the dawn of a new age as PC competitive gamers got a chance to play World of Warcraft PvP for the first time EVER in MLG! The first winners EVER were Frag Dominant and they took home 12 grand in cashy money as well as 3 HP Blackbirds.
I look forward to what the next event brings!
Don’t worry folks GB will be there eventually I am an avid competitor myself and I look forward to getting back on and playing for all you fine folks…eventually =)

Here is the latest footage of Resistance 2 the sequel to the PS3 Hit Launch title. Not only did they adjust certain elements of the game (Cross-Hair Bloom, 2 weapon MAX inventory) but they upped the ante with 30v30 player battles. Don’t worry though the folks at Insomniac know how to bring order to Chaos, they implemented a new system to handle the large scale fights so don’t worry about angry 12 year old screaming into the mike or El1te_Sp4rt4an666 playing the latest My Chemical Romance song into your ears because you can hope into the games with friends and ONLY here them!

Basically you are a unit in an army with your own objectives. Trust me it’s madness!

Lets not forget about Single player (second video) the game takes you back to the good ole’ US of A and Nathan Hale only has 19 hours left to live. Enjoy the footage there will be more to come post E3
